The Nokia 6300 is a cellular phone that was released in late 2006. The phone is a legacy cell phone that is no longer manufactured by Nokia. The model features a color display, a two-megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth, an FM radio tuner and voice dialing. T-Mobile is one of the major GSM cellular service providers in the United States that sold the Nokia 6300. T-Mobile generally sells cellular phones with a carrier lock, meaning you can not use the cellular phone with another carrier's SIM card. It is, however, possible to unlock most cell phones including the Nokia 6300.
Instructions
1. Call T-Mobile customer service at (800) 866-2453 and request the unlock code for your Nokia 6300. It is T-Mobile's policy to provide customers with the unlock code for free provided that the customer has an active account that is in good standing and meets certain conditions. Post-paid plan customers need a minimum of 40 days of active service with T-mobile to receive the unlock code.
2. Remove the back cover from your Nokia 6300 and lift the battery out of the battery compartment. Under the battery, you will find the T-Mobile SIM card. Remove the SIM card and then replace the battery and the back cover. Turn on the Nokia 6300.
3. Type "#pw+code+1# using your Nokia 6300 keypad. "Code" in this sequence refers to the unlock code you wrote down in Step 1. The Nokia 6300 will display the message "SIM Restriction OFF." Your cellular phone is now unlocked and you can use it with a non T-Mobile SIM.
