Upgrade Phone Memory

Easy memory expansion for cell phones.

Upgrading a cell phone's memory takes very little time. In most cases, it will cost a little extra money. Most phones are compatible with MicroSD cards or other types of removable memory. These memory cards are available from service providers, electronics retailers and superstore discount retailers. Before buying any MicroSD card, it's best to do a little research. Start with your model of cell phone and learn what type of memory card it uses. Then look into the type of memory card. There are many options other than the standard MicroSD card.

Instructions

1. Research the type of card that best serves your needs. There are plenty of review venues online that can be of help. You also will need to know how much memory you will want. The higher the capacity, the more expensive the card will be.

2. Go to a store and buy the card. If you plan on visiting a discount superstore retailer, memory cards are usually in the electronics department.

3. Turn your phone off.

4. Locate the slot for memory cards on your phone. This location varies by brand and model of cell phone. Many phones have the memory slot next to the SIM card, beneath the battery.

5. Place the memory card into the slot. You might have to remove your battery to get to the slot. Once the card is inserted, reinstall the battery.

6. Turn your phone back on. Your phone's memory has been upgraded.
