Lcd Screen Replacement Instructions

The LCD screen allows the user to view the subject.

The flip-out screen of a video camera, referred to as the LCD screen, allows the user to easily capture the subject of the video while still being aware of his or her surroundings. When the LCD screen of the camera starts to turn white or produces an upside down image, the screen needs replacement. The ribbon cable that connects the camera to the LCD screen sends information from the lens of the camera to the digital LCD screen. A damaged or worn out ribbon cable oftentimes results in having to replace the entire LCD screen unit.

Instructions

1. Purchase an LCD screen replacement for the old or damaged one. Remove the battery from the back of the video camera. Flip out the LCD screen to locate the screws that secure it to the body of the video camera.

2. Loosen the screws with the tip of the screwdriver. Turn over the LCD screen and remove the screws on the back side. Remove the screws surrounding the face of the LCD screen.

3. Pull off the back cover of the LCD carefully so you don't disconnect any of the cords. Detach the connectors with the tip of the screwdriver and disconnect any cables running from the video camera to the LCD screen.

4. Pull out the vibrant blue circuit board to uncover the LCD screen. Hold the clear yellow data label while removing the old LCD screen. Insert the new LCD screen into its proper place. Place the circuit board on top of the newly replace LCD screen.

5. Reconnect the data label as well as the connecting cords. Place the back cover onto the back of the flip-out LCD screen. Tighten the previously removed screws back in place. Press the "Power" button of the video camera to check the function of the new replacement LCD screen.
