Cell phone manufacturers generally provide software applications along with the phone that help you manage your phone's data and applications. Chiefly, it's a package that you can use for organizing and managing multimedia files, including ringtones. For managing your ringtones, use the default application your particular cell phone uses.
Instructions
1. Install the software application that came on a CD with your phone. Simply insert the CD into the computer's optical drive, and follow the installation wizard's instructions to set it up.
2. Launch the application after it installs, and connect your cell phone to the computer using its USB data cable.
3. Select the "Media"/"Ringtones" tab on the application, and scroll down the list to see the ringtones you have on the device at the moment.
4. Click the "Play"/"Preview" button on the application to listen to each ringtone. If you don't like any, highlight it and press the "Delete" button.
5. Download more ringtones on the phone by going to the phone manufacturer's website (for instance, Nokia's Ovi Store). On the website, browse and download whichever ringtone you like. Save the downloaded ringtone on your computer's desktop.
6. Go back to your phone's manager application, and click "File," "Open" and/or "Upload." Then select the downloaded ringtone from the desktop to add to the phone. The application will take a minute or two to transfer the tones.
