Sync A Nokia 6263 With A Mac

Sync your Nokia 6263 with a Mac computer via iSync.

Nokia cell phones can be synchronized with Mac computers via the program, iSync. iSync is preinstalled on Macs and automatically sync with certain devices. However, some devices, such as the Nokia 6263, require an iSync plug-in to work properly. Once installed, though, you just need to connect your phone to your computer to synchronize data such as contacts and calendars between your computer and the phone.

Instructions

1. Download an iSync plug-in from the Nova Media website (see Resources). The Finder should automatically mount the disk image.

2. Double click the install icon to complete the installation of the iSync plug-in.

3. Activate the iSync plug-in by opening "System Preferences" under the Apple menu. Select "iSync Plug-ins" and choose your cell phone. Buy an activation key for the plug-in (see Resources). In 2010, the cost for the activation key is $9.95. This is required to use the plug-in. Click "Activate Plug-in."

4. Connect your Nokia phone using the Bluetooth.

5. Launch iSync from the "Applications" folder in the Finder.

6. Click the "iSync" menu and select "Add Devices."

7. Double click your Nokia device. Your phone will be added to iSync.

8. Change the synchronization options by selecting which items from calendars and contacts that you want to sync.

9. Click "Sync Devices."
