Locate A Mobile Device

Has your mobile device disappeared?

Even those with the best memory have misplaced their mobile device, and perhaps you've just recently lost yours. You've likely retraced your steps at this point, contacted the places where you might have left it, and bugged your family and friends to help you find it. If you still can't locate it, there are options available on the Internet that might get you calling, texting and surfing again.

Instructions

Locating a Mobile Device Using the Internet

1. Turn on your computer and open your Internet browser.

2. Go to a website that helps people track down their mobile devices. Options include icantfindmyphone.com, wheresmycellphone.com, and mobiledefense.com.

3. Type in the requested information. For icantfindmyphone.com or wheresmycellphone.com, type your phone number, including the area code, and click "Hello" or "make it ring." Doing this will dial your number so that you can hear it ring in your home or office. If you're using mobiledefense.com, you'll be asked to enter personal information, including your name and email address, and information about your device, such as its make and model. You'll be asked to download a program that uses an interactive map to locate your mobile device.

4. Wait for your mobile device to ring if you have used an Internet program that dials your device, or use the interactive map that shows the location of your phone if you have used a program such as Mobile Defense.
