Find My Bluetooth Phone On My Pc

Find your Bluetooth compatible phone on your PC.

Bluetooth technology is very similar to wireless Internet technology. Your computer can search for a Bluetooth connection from various compatible devices, like printers, digital cameras and headsets. One popular device that you can use with a computer is the cell phone---you have pictures, videos, and text files on your phone that you can transfer to your PC using the wireless Bluetooth technology.

Instructions

1. Purchase a Bluetooth adapter (available at computer and cell phone stores). Install the software that comes with the adapter first and then insert the Bluetooth adapter into your computer when prompted.

2. Turn on your Bluetooth compatible cell phone and check its "Settings" or "Options" to assure that the Bluetooth option is "enabled."

3. Restart your computer if prompted by the software so that it will fully recognize the new Bluetooth hardware (adapter).

4. Double-click the "My Bluetooth Places" icon in your system tray, which is at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen where you see your time display.

5. Select "Search for devices in range" or similar. The computer will search for your Bluetooth phone. When it finds the signal, it will display an icon for the phone in your "Bluetooth Places." Click the phone icon to pair the PC with your cellphone.

6. Type in a PIN and click "OK" to create the Bluetooth "relationship" between your phone and PC.
