Link An Hp 6500 Wireless Printer To Email

The HP Officejet 6500 is a wireless all-in-one printer that allows you to set up and connect local networks, and send information and print pages, including emails, remotely from your computer. You need to install the printer software and connect the printer to your computer to run through the setup process. Note that Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher must be installed on your computer to run the installation.


Instructions


Installing the Software and Connecting the Device


1. Close all applications. Insert your HP 6500 installation CD into your CD-ROM drive and wait for the CD menu to launch automatically.


2. Click the "Install USB-Connected Device or Install Network/Wireless Device" option in the CD menu and follow the onscreen instructions.


3. Connect one end of your USB cable to your HP 6500 printer, and the other to your computer's USB port. Wait for the "Found New Hardware" menu to appear.


4. Click the "Advanced" option and press "Next." Check the box for specifying the driver location. Make sure all other boxes are unchecked. Wait for a pop-up search menu revealing your hard drive locations.


5. Browse your computer in the pop-up window and select the installation CD. Click "OK."


6. Click "Next" to follow the onscreen instructions. Press "Finish" to close the "Found New Hardware" window and complete the installation process.


Printing Your Email


7. Make sure there is paper loaded in the HP 6500 printer tray.


8. Open the desired email in your web browser. Click your browser's "File" tab at the top of the screen and select "HP Smart Web Printing."


9. Select the text in the email you want printed. If using Internet Explorer, click the "Options" tab and choose either "As Laid Out On Screen," "Only the Selected Frame" or "Print All Linked Documents."


10. Click the "Print" button.
