Convert A Cd Mp3 To A Ringtone Or A Ringback

With the growth in popularity of smartphones and PDAs, the demand for ringtones and ringback tones has grown exponentially. Most smartphones and cell phones allow the user to customize and upload additional ringtones. One recurring need for users who wish to be creative with their ringtones is the ability to convert MP3 files to ringtone files. One application to convert MP3 files to various ringtone file formats, Media-Convert, is free and requires no additional software downloads or installations. Once the files are converted into the appropriate ringtone format, the user just follows the directions provided in the phone device's manual to upload, configure and use the ringtone.


Instructions


1. Insert the CD with the MP3 to be converted into your computer's CD player or burner. Right-click the Windows "Start" button, then select "Explore" from the context menu.


2. Navigate to the MP3 on the CD, then right-click on the MP3 file. Select "Copy" from the context menu. Right-click on the computer's desktop and select "Paste" to copy the MP3 file to the desktop.


3. Open a web browser, enter the URL for the Media-Convert application (See Resources). Click inside the "File" input box. The File Selector will appear. Navigate to the MP3 file on the desktop and click the file to enter it into the input box.


4. Select the "MP3" option in the Input File Type drop down box. Click the Output File Type drop down box and select one of the ringtone file types. Click the "OK" button to convert the file. The ringtone file will save on the desktop.


5. To test the ringtone, transfer the ringtone file to the phone device, configure for use and test by receiving a call.
