Unlock a Nokia 3315
Usually when you purchase a Nokia 3315 mobile phone from any telecom service provider, the company locks the cell phone to discourage its use with another service provider. In order to avail another company's services on your Nokia 3315, you are required to unlock the phone set first, and for that, you have to get the correct unlock code.
Instructions
1. Press *#06# on your Nokia 3315 keypad for getting the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number. The IMEI number will be displayed on your phone's screen.
2. Visit the website Unlock.nokiafree.org for accessing the Nokia 3315 unlock calculator. This website provides unlock codes for all Nokia mobile phone models regardless of the telecom network.
3. Enter the IMEI number in the calculator box. You will then select your network from the drop-down list of networks. Also, select the accurate GID1 from the drop-down menu. GID1 is a lock that is used by some network service providers.
4. Click on the button that says "Get Nokia DCT3 Unlock Code." The information you provide is processed and you will get a list of unlock codes for your Nokia 3315.
5. Try to enter only two or three codes, which are listed for your Nokia 3315. Upon entering an incorrect code five times, your phone will most likely get permanently locked and will not be opened by these codes. In such case, you will have to take the mobile phone to a dealer who will unlock it for you.
6. Get a verified phone unlock code for Nokia 3315 from a paid service if the unlock codes don't work. You can avail the services of Ucables.com, which is the paid service of Unlock.Nokiafree.org. You can also contact other paid websites such as Mrunlock.com. The charges of unlocking vary from website to website, but most of them guarantee accurate codes.
7. Take out the SIM card from your Nokia 3315 and power it on. Now enter the code.
8. Start using your phone once you see a pop-up message on the screen saying "Phone restrictions off."
