Get Malware Removal Software To Start When You'Re Infected By The Xp Internet Security Virus

You can get past a computer virus's defense mechanism.

The XP Internet Security virus is a fake anti-spyware application that will trick the user into believing his computer is infected with viruses and that this application will remove it. If the user ignores the misleading pop-up window that claims you are infected, and immediately runs an spyware-removal program, she can remove the infection. Once the virus is installed, it can allow other malicious applications onto your system. The infection may not allow removal software to be run on the infected computer. You will have to circumvent the virus' security measure by booting the computer into Safe Mode.

Instructions

1. Download onto a USB flash drive a series of anti-spyware removal applications, such as Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and Ad-aware. You will need to do this from a clean, virus-free computer. Save the files onto the USB drive, and place the stick into the infected computer's USB port.

2. Boot your computer into Safe Mode. Press the "F8" key repeatedly when you turn your computer on. A black window with white lettering will ask you if you want to start in "Safe mode." Select this option and let it boot. This allows only essential computer processes to run and will permit the user to access to the removal software.

3. Install the removal software saved on the USB stick. Each program will ask to perform updates to its database. You won't be able to do this because you won't have access to the Internet. The database should be current enough to remove most of the infections. Run each of these applications. This process can take hours to complete. When all three of these applications finish, you will need to reboot the system.

4. Run the three applications again after the system reboots. This time allow the software to update itself and run a "Full" or "Complete" scan. Remove anything suspicious.

5. Update your anti-virus software and perform a full scan. This may pick up any leftover traces of an infection and remove it.
