Mobile phones with more capability
Mobile phones with advanced capabilities such as email, web browsing, video streaming, multimedia, editing, GPS and other applications are considered smart phones. Smart phones use different keyboards such as touchscreens and the Qwerty keyboard. As of March 2010, major suppliers of smart phones with Qwerty keyboards include BlackBerry, Apple, Samsung, Nokia and Motorola.
BlackBerry
No information about smart phones with Qwerty keyboards would be complete without covering Blackberry. They offer several models of the Bold, Curve, Pearl, Tour and 8800 series. BlackBerry solutions enable access to mobile applications, data, email, music, IM, the Internet and games. Some have a built-in wireless modem, GPS, file editing, mobile streaming and multimedia capabilities.
Apple

Samsung
Samsung offers two smart phones with Qwerty keyboards, the "Jack" (SGH-i637) and the "BlackJack II" (SGH-i617) with AT&T as the carrier. The Qwerty keyboard has a line-by-line or page-by-page scroll and "Jack" comes with Windows Mobile 6.1, WiFi, a camera, multiple messaging support and an Energy-Star rated adaptor.
The thin BlackJack II uses a Jog Wheel for scrolling, has an Energy-Star rated adaptor, Bluetooth and Windows Mobile 6 OS.
Nokia
The slim Nokia E71x is an AT&T phone that works with business and personal email, AT&T Navigator, mobile web, multimedia messaging, Mail for Exchange, speed dial and voice commands. Applications include Quickoffice, PDF Reader, calendar, calculator and to-do lists. It supports Flash video and content, RSS feeds and photo and video sharing.
Motorola
The Moto Q has a thumb-wheel, internal antenna, large screen, web capabilities, camera, video, MP3, Bluethooth and is compatible with accessories such as RAZRWIRE eye-wear. It also has a speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, Windows Mobile 5 software, Exchange 2003, multimedia messaging and support for many image, video and audio formats. Picture caller identification is one of the advanced functions.
New Advancements
The Open Handset Alliance developed Android, the open platform for mobile phones. Android opens doors for developers and new applications of smart phones that users can customize based on their personal interests. Many Android smart phones have Qwerty keyboards. As of March 2010, Verizon, Motorola, T-Mobile, Sprint and HTC offer phones with Android technology.
