Set Up Mms On My Verizon Samsung Omnia

MMS allows you to send picture, video and sound to recipients on their cellphones or via email.

Verizon Wireless' MMS, or multimedia messaging service, allows you to add pictures, video and sound clips to your text messages on your Samsung Omnia. While these messages are sent through the Omnia's "messaging" menu in the same way that text messages are sent, they require special parameters that text messages do not. Setting up multimedia messaging on your Verizon Wireless Samsung Omnia is very simple and usually takes just a few minutes of your time.

Instructions

1. Take a photo by navigating to the "Camera" application. When you're done, click "Save" to save your photo.

Send your photo to a friend or family member by clicking the "Messaging" application, and then selecting "New." Enter your recipient's phone number and then click the left soft button below the screen. Choose "Attach," then "Image." Choose the image you want to attach by clicking it, then select "Send."

If the recipient receives your message, have them send one back to you to confirm that you can both send and receive MMS messages. If you are able to send and receive MMS messages for the first time, you do not need to go any further, as MMS messaging has already been set up on your account.

2. Send yourself a picture message by composing a text message and attaching a photo and addressing it to your own phone number, including the area code, if the above step did not work for you.

To send a photo, navigate to the "Messaging" menu, then select "New." Enter your own phone number in the "Send" field, and then click the left soft key just below the screen and select "Attach" from the resulting menu display. Scroll to "Image" and select the image you want to send, then click "Send."

In many cases, this action activates the MMS messaging service if your Omnia does not already have it enabled.

3. Power cycle your Samsung Omnia if the above steps did not work. If you had previously been able to receive MMS messages but are now unable to, turning your phone off and then back on again can reset your phone and possibly allow MMS messaging once again.

4. Call Verizon Wireless customer service at 800-922-0204 and inquire about your messaging plan if the above steps have failed. Verify that a messaging plan exists on your account, that multimedia messaging is enabled in their systems for your account, and that you have remaining messages left for your service month.

5. Add a messaging plan to your account with the customer service representative on the phone if your account does not have a messaging plan. He will then give you instructions on reset your phone on Verizon's network, which should activate MMS messaging on your account.

6. Ask the customer service representative on the phone what could be preventing your phone from receiving or sending MMS messages if all attempts to set up MMS have failed. There could be a problem with the Verizon Wireless network in your area, or there could be a problem with your handset. He will give you further instruction and insight as to why your MMS messages are not working correctly, as well as direct you to a technical support representative, who will be able to take additional steps to fix the problem.
