Using speakerphone
The speakerphone can be an important feature of your Envy2 if you need to place your phone down while doing something else and still want to be able to talk. If you are not able to hear anything from your speaker while in speakerphone mode, several things may cause this to happen.
Instructions
1. Press the volume up key on the left side of the phone. If the volume was accidentally lowered, you won't be able to hear anything from your speakerphone.
2. Plug in your wired headset into the headset jack. Sometimes the phone can go into headset mode and not switch back. Check to see if you can hear through your headset. If you can, then unplug it and see if you can still hear out the handset speaker.
3. Turn your bluetooth off. If bluetooth is turned on, it may be playing the audio through that instead of the phone. To turn it off, go to the main menu and press the "OK" button. This will launch the icon menu. Press "9" to go to "Settings & Tools." Press "3" to go to the "Bluetooth" menu. If it is on, then press the left soft key to switch it to "Off."
4. Reset the phone back to the factory settings. Sometimes a software issue can cause the speaker to stop working. From the main menu, press the "OK" button to pull up the icon menu. Press "9" to bring up "Settings & Tools." Press "6" to go to "Phone settings." Press "6" again to go to "Security." Enter in the four-digit security code. If you never set one, the default is the last four numbers of your phone number. Press "6" for "Restore phone" and then "OK" to confirm the reset.
5. Test the speakerphone when the reset is completed. If the speakerphone problem continues, then the phone might need to be replaced. Check to see if you still have a warranty or insurance on the phone.
