Recording phone calls on your computer is possible with the help of Google Voice. Google voice is a free phone routing service that allows you to make phone calls from your computer. With a computer, a phone and the Google Voice software, you can record phone calls on your computer in less than an hour.
Instructions
Landline
1. Record calls on your landline by connecting the recorder control cable to your landline telephone by first unplugging the coiled cord from the handset jack on the base of the telephone.
2. Connect the coiled cord coming from the wall to the input handset jack on the recorder control.
3. Connect the coiled cord from the recorder control to the handset jack of the phone.
4. Insert the audio plug of the recorder control into the microphone jack of the computer.
5. Record a call by selecting "Record" on the recorder control, and make a phone call as normal.
6. Listen to the recording by selecting "Play" on the recorder control and inserting the audio plug into the headphone jack of the computer.
Cell Phone
7. Record a call on your cell phone using Google Voice by signing up for the service at the link in the Resources section.
8. Turn call recording "On" in the options menu after connecting to the Google Voice system.
9. Press the number 4 while calling to toggle the recording feature on and off.
10. Listen to your recorded phone calls by selecting and playing them from the Google Voice menu system.
