United Airlines offers travelers the ability to earn free flights and upgrades by signing up for a membership with Mileage Plus. Mileage Plus is the United Airlines frequent flyer program, which is free to sign up for. Each time you complete a flight on United Airlines, you receive points for every mile flown, which are then added to your membership account until you accumulate enough miles to qualify for free flights and seating upgrades.
Instructions
1. Visit the United Airlines website to become a Mileage Plus member. Another way to apply for membership is to ask a flight attendant on your next United Airlines flight for a membership application form to fill out.
2. Provide your name, address, phone number, date of birth and email address on your membership application. If you are applying for membership online, you'll need to choose one of the preset security questions to answer; this is for security purposes.
3. Read the terms and conditions and submit your membership application. The confirmation page will show your membership identification number, which you should keep for your records. Use this number whenever you book a flight on United Airlines to ensure you receive points for your flights.
