Get Your Verizon Wireless Bill Reduced

There are several approaches to reducing your Verizon Wireless bill.

Opening a Verizon cell phone bill sometimes provides a nasty surprise. If you went over your minutes, sent too many texts or used excessive amounts of data, the bill can easily be double the normal amount. Conversely, some people do not take full advantage of their Verizon plans and pay for service they do not use. Talk with Verizon representatives about changing your service or look for other ways to get a reduced Verizon wireless bill.

Instructions

1. Call Verizon Wireless customer service at 800- 922-0204, or dial *611 from your Verizon Wireless cell phone. Explain that you want to pay less for your wireless service and ask for available options. Inquire about available specials.

2. Contact Verizon Wireless immediately if you receive a very high bill caused by going over your minutes. Often, the company will sign you up for a plan that can retroactively cover the increased costs.

3. Discuss your plans to switch to another cell phone provider with a Verizon Wireless representative. Sometimes, the threat of ditching the service will prompt representatives to offer you discounts. Research your options with other companies beforehand so you can ask for comparable service and pricing.

4. Consolidate household members' plans into one family rate package. Verizon Wireless family plans allows up to five subscribers to share minutes, texts and data packages. The per-person cost is lower and the plan allows balance between those who do not use all of their available minutes and texts, and those who regularly go over their monthly allotment.

5. Assess your text message plan. Some unlimited plans are not worth it if you rarely send or receive texts. You may save money by going to a per-text charge plan. Alternatively, if you do not have an unlimited plan but regularly spend more than $10 a month on texts, add a text package to your bill. In either case, you will reduce your monthly costs.
