Delete Mobile History In A Mobile S60

Nokia's Symbian 60 operating system is a popular choice with over 100 million sold worldwide. Since The Symbian Foundation was formed in 2008 many more manufacturers have been able to use the platform on their own devices. Protecting mobile privacy is important, and Nokia have made it easy to do on these professional devices by following a few simple steps.


Instructions


Deleting call history


1. Bring up your phone's call log by pressing the green soft-key in stand by mode. This will be the button you use to make calls, and pressing it will display your latest calling activity.


2. Select "Options" and then "Clear List" to remove calling history. Depending on your version you may need to cycle between "Dialled Numbers", "Received Calls" and "Missed Calls" by choosing the appropriate tab and clearing each list individually.


3. You have now removed your calling history, to test this press the green soft key in stand-by mode. Your call log should now be empty.


Deleting Internet history


4. Press the menu button in stand-by mode to bring up the main menu, and select "Internet" to load your browser.


5. Select "Options" once the browser has loaded, and then the "Clear Privacy Data" sub-menu from the list.


6. Clear selected history components using each selection. You can choose from "All" to remove everything, "Cache" to remove locally stored files, "Cookies" to remove website-tracking cookies, "History" to clear visited Web pages and "Form/Password Data" to remove more sensitive stored information.


Deleting messaging history


7. Press the menu button in stand-by mode to bring up the main menu, and select "Messaging" to display available folders.


8. Choose a folder to empty. Each needs to be emptied individually, including your inbox, sent messages and stored messages.


9. Once you have chosen a folder, select "Options" then "Mark/Unmark" and mark the messages you would like to delete. You can choose "Mark" to designate individual messages, "Mark Read Messages" to only mark older messages or "Mark All" to select everything. Chosen messages will be clearly marked once you have selected an option.


10. Select "Options" followed by "Delete" to remove messages. You will be prompted on whether you wish to delete the chosen items, once you have confirmed your messaging history is empty.
