Troubleshoot A Pantech Duo Phone

The Pantech Duo cellular phone runs on the Windows Mobile platform. It has texting and Internet capabilities like other cell phones. This means that there are many different things that can go wrong. Find solutions to any problem the Duo has by reading through its user guide or by going through a series of troubleshooting strategies.

Instructions

1. Reset the menu text if it has become too big or too small. Press the "Left Soft Key." Highlight "Settings" and press "OK." Highlight "More" and press "OK." Press left or right until you get to "System font size." Click "OK." Move to the left or right until it matches what you want. Press "Done."

2. Adjust the power settings if your battery shuts down a lot because you are using full power. Press the "Left Soft Key." Go to "Settings" and press "OK." Move to "Power Management" and press "OK." From here, you can change the backlight, brightness, keypad lights and display time. The lower the setting you select, the less battery power it takes to run the phone.

3. Format the extra microSD card if you are having corruption errors when trying to use it. Fit the microSD card into the microSD card to SD card companion. Place the companion into the personal computer's SD slot. Click the round "Start" button. Go to "Control Panel." Click "System and Security," then "Administrative Tools." Double-click the "Computer Management" option. Left-click the "Disk Management" option in the left panel. Right-click the microSD card in the right panel. Select the "Format" option. Click the "OK" button on the next two screens to format the card.

4. Clear the phone to its factory settings if your phone's settings are entirely disrupted or nonfunctional. This is to be used only as a last-ditch effort. Press the "Left Soft Key." Click "Settings," then press "OK." Move to "Security" and press "OK." Choose "Master Clear" and press "OK." This option will remove all user data from the phone.
