A variety of Android applications provide the capability of making phone calls over a Wi-Fi Internet network. These apps allow you to preserve your minutes by routing your calls through Internet networks instead of your provider's mobile network. By utilizing VoIP technology, calls made over Wi-Fi are capable of providing high quality connections. With all VoIP software, calls made between users of the service are free and calls made to mobile phones or landlines can be made after purchasing credit.
