The Nokia E71 is a smartphone with a full QWERTY keypad. You can install music on the E71 in a number of ways. You can download music files straight from the Internet to your phone. Other options include transferring the song files from your PC to the phone via Bluetooth or USB cable.
Instructions
1. Press the "Menu" button on the E71 and click "Applications" to download a music file. Open "Ovi" in the "Applications" sub-menu. Nokia Ovi store will launch in the Internet browser. Type the name of the music file that you're looking to download in the top search bar. Click the "Download" button next to the music file. Wait for the music file to finish transferring to your phone. Some songs must be purchased before they can be downloaded to your phone from the Ovi store. You can use your credit card to make the purchase.
2. Connect the USB cable that came with the phone to a USB port on the PC to transfer a file via USB. Insert its other end into the phone's USB port. Wait for Windows to detect the device. Click the Windows orb and click "Computer." Navigate to the folder in which the music files are stored. Highlight the music files that you want to transfer and press "Ctrl" and "C" to copy the files. Open the phone's drive under the list of external storage devices shown in "Computer." Open the folder in which you want to transfer the music files, for instance, the "Songs" folder of the phone. Press "Ctrl" and "V" to paste the files.
3. Press the "Menu" key and go to "Settings" sub-menu to set up a Bluetooth transfer. Open "Connectivity" and then select "Bluetooth." Specify Bluetooth as "On." On the computer, navigate to the music file that you want to transfer to the phone. Right-click the file, and click "Send to" and then "Bluetooth." Wait for your computer to search for other Bluetooth enabled devices in the surroundings. Your phone shows in the search results. If you have specified a name for your phone, it appears with that name. Otherwise, it shows as the E71. Double-click the phone's icon. Enter any pass code, for instance "0101," when prompted, but enter the same pass code on both the phone and PC. The music file transfers to your phone.
