Manage Voip

VoIP is a phone option for businesses and homes.

VoIP, otherwise known as Voice Over Internet Protocol, is a type of Internet phone option. Businesses and personal phone uses are turning to VoIP phone options as a way to minimize costs and maximize phone usage needs. While it has benefits, such as lower costs and usage around the world by carrying VoIP adaptors, VoIP requires careful management to minimize VoIP problems like jitter or dropped calls.

Instructions

1. Prioritize calls over VoIP. When too many calls are made at the same time over a VoIP network, the calls start to drop, do not have enough bandwidth and create problems. By prioritizing calls and making calls a few at a time, the VoIP network is not overwhelmed and information is not lost.

2. Ask callers about their experience with the service. Always check that both ends are hearing the call accurately and with a minimum delay. VoIP digitizes information and then translates the information to the other phone. As a result, both ends of the phone conversation might not catch everything and there is a potential for lost information. Checking with the other line will minimize problems with lost information.

3. Train workers on both sides of the VoIP network on troubleshoot and use the service. When used in a personal home, VoIP troubleshooting is part of personal experience. When used in businesses, training employees on troubleshooting will lower problems and ensure that the network is always running properly.

4. Obtain a VoIP monitoring tool and set it up. The tool is used to determine normal VoIP standards for the specific network and provides warnings when the network is not working within the normal standards. This makes it easier to determine when there are problems and what the problems are.
