Replace A Nokia N95 Screen

If your Nokia N95 cell phone needs a new LCD screen, rest assured that a screen replacement is easy to do. Your screen may be scratched or cracked, or you may be one of many N95 users experiencing a high-pitched whining or screeching noise that results from vibrations caused by faulty installation of the original screen.


Instructions


Removing the LCD Screen from a Nokia N95


1. Detach all accessories from the phone and shut it off. Remove the battery cover and the battery.


2. Pull down the slide on the front of the phone and use the Torx T5 screwdriver to remove the two screws from the bottom corners on the back of the phone.


3. Close the slide and use the Torx T5 to remove the two screws from the top corners on the back of the phone.


4. Use the small flat-head screwdriver (or your finger nail) to pop the front cover off the phone. The keypad also will pop out.


5. Pull the component forward to reveal the ribbon that connects the screen to the phone.


6. Use the Torx T5 screwdriver to flip out the metal hinge on the bottom of the ribbon.


7. Pull the LCD screen upward to detach it from the phone.

8. Slide the new screen into the same position the old one was in before you removed it.


9. Use the Torx screwdriver to pull back the metal hinge that holds the ribbon in place. Slide the ribbon attached to the screen underneath the hinge. Remove the screwdriver.


10. Put the keypad in place above the white component board. Clip the cover back on, making sure all four corners are flush with the corners of the phone.


11. Close the slide and screw in the two top screws.


12. Open the slide and screw in the two bottom screws.
