Transfer Data From PC to Mobile
When transferring data from your PC to your mobile phone, your phone must be in the right format to open the relevant files. See your cell phone's manual or visit the manufacturer's website to see which files formats are supported by your phone.
Most common modern cell phone brands only allow access from your PC to the phone's memory card. You can find three ways to go about transferring data to and from the phone's memory card: via USB cable, a card reader or Bluetooth.
Instructions
Transferring Data via USB cable
1. Plug the cable into the mobile phone and the PC's USB-port. The computer should detect the phone automatically as a USB-device, in which case a menu will pop up, asking if you want to access the files on the phone.
If the pop-up menu does not appear, click on "Computer" and see if the phone shows as a device. Double click on the phone's icon to access the files.
If your phone does not show under "Computer," you might have to install the phone's PC-suite (connection software) first and access the files using this software.
2. Select the files you want to transfer to the phone by clicking on it and holding the CTRL button down.
3. Copy the files to the cell phone by dragging and dropping it into the relevant directories (MP3s into music folder, images in picture gallery) or copy (CTRL+ C) and paste (CTRL+V) it to the desired location.
Transferring Data Using a Card Reader
4. Remove the memory card from your phone and slide it into the card reader.
5. Connect the card reader to the PC (usually via the USB-port). The computer should detect the card reader automatically as a USB device, in which case a menu will pop up, asking if you want to access the files on the phone.
6. Select the files you want to transfer to the phone by clicking on it and keeping the CTRL button in.
7. Copy the files to the cell phone by dragging and dropping it into the relevant directories, or copy (CTRL+ C) and paste (CTRL+V) it to the desired location.
Transferring Data via Bluetooth
8. Activate the Bluetooth connection on your phone. For most phones, go to Menu/ Settings/ Connectivity/ Bluetooth and select "Turn On."
9. Plug the Bluetooth adapter into your PC's USB slot and open the Bluetooth software you installed.
10. Click on "Find New Devices" to detect your phone. In some cases you will be prompted to enter a security code. This will be any code you choose to use and has nothing to do with other security codes on your phone. Enter the same code on both the phone and the PC.
