My Flash Player Won'T Download

You may have to troubleshoot problems that occur with your computer's Adobe Flash Player.

Flash movie files are used throughout the Internet. These files allow you to watch the video content without actually downloading the video (this is because it streams to your computer while the video plays). An Adobe Flash Player must be installed on your computer.

However, if the player is not downloading, you need to troubleshoot the issue in order to correctly download and play flash video files.

Instructions

1. Close out all Internet programs while downloading the Adobe Flash Player. This program updates your computer's Internet software. Updates are not possible if any programs are open.

2. Check your Internet connection. If the cable connecting your computer to the Internet modem is not inserted completely into either port, your computer won't be able to download anything, including the flash player.

3. Navigate to the system control panel. Choose the "Internet Options" icon. Once there, choose the firewall settings. Select the "Exceptions" list and click "Browse." Choose your Internet browser and add it to the exceptions list. This now allows you to download programming with your Internet browser.

4. Select the correct operating system when downloading the software. If you select the wrong operating system, the flash player software won't download to your computer.
