Fit A New Nokia 6111 Screen

The Nokia 6111 is a cellular slider phone that comes with a front screen that retracts to reveal a keypad. Since the screen is exposed, it can be vulnerable to being damaged. If you have a cracked or damaged screen on your Nokia 6111, you can partially disassemble the phone and replace the screen yourself. The whole process won't take more than a few minutes.

Instructions

1. Turn off your Nokia 6111 and press the red release button on the bottom of the unit to release the battery cover.

2. Remove the battery cover panel from the rear of the unit and remove the battery.

3. Slide the front portion of the phone up to its open position and use your small Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws on the corners of the back of the screen.

4. Pull the plastic tabs near the screw holes outward to release the front phone cover.

5. Remove the front cover from the Nokia and the LCD screen will be completely exposed.

6. Lift the screen up from the bottom to expose the screen ribbon cable.

7. Unplug the screen ribbon cable from its port on the back of the screen and remove the screen from the unit.

8. Plug the cable into the port at the back of the new screen and fit the new screen in the phone housing so that it is flush with the screen compartment.

9. Place the top screen cover over the phone.

10. Replace the two screws on the corners of the top of the rear of the screen. Push the tabs next to the screw holes in to secure the screen.
