Send A File From A Laptop To A Hp Phone

Share data, images and movies on your HP phone

You can easily connect your HP mobile device to your laptop through Bluetooth to transfer files including data, audio and video. If your laptop does not have a built-in Bluetooth device, you can purchase a Bluetooth dongle and connect it to your laptop. An even easier way of sending files to your phone is via email.

Instructions

Bluetooth

1. Turn on the Bluetooth device on your HP phone by tapping the "iPAQ Wireless" icon from the "Today" screen. A new window will appear from which you will select the "Bluetooth" icon. As the Bluetooth turns on, you will see Bluetooth LED flashing blue on the front of the HP handheld.

2. Press the "Bluetooth" button on your laptop to turn on the Bluetooth device on your laptop. Go to "My Bluetooth Places" from the Bluetooth icon on your computer's taskbar tray. Now click on the option "Search for devices in range" and you will see a list of devices with enabled Bluetooth. Select your HP phone as the destination.

3. Right-click the HP phone icon on the computer screen and click "Pair Device." You will be asked to enter a security PIN on your laptop as well as your HP phone. After entering an identical PIN, the devices will be ready to share files.

4. Select the file from your laptop that you want to send to your phone. Right-click on the file and select "Send to." From the context menu, select "Bluetooth device" and the file will be transferred to your HP iPAQ phone.

Email

5. Compose a new email from an email client such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird and attach the file you want to send to your HP phone. Save the draft once the file is successfully attached. If you do not use an email client, go to the Internet browser icon on your computer. Log on to your email account on the browser and sign in. Compose an email, attach the file you want to send and save a draft.

6. Tap the icon "iPAQ Wireless" from the "Today" screen on your HP phone. Now select the "WiFi button from the menu. When the WiFi powers on, the WiFi icon on the screen will turn amber and the Bluetooth LED will flash blue.

7. See the networks list on the screen and select the network that you want to connect to. If it is a secured network, you will be asked to provide the network key.

8. Open the email client on your HP phone and open the email you saved as a draft. Download the attached file on your phone. If you are not using an email client, tap the "Start" menu on your HP phone screen and select "Internet Explorer." In the address bar, type the URL for your email (for instance, mail.yahoo.com or gmail.com). Log on to your email and open the draft you saved on your computer. Download the attached file in a desired location on your HP phone.
