The Blackberry 8830 is a World Edition Smartphone used on the Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile wireless networks. The phone can make calls across the United State and to many countries outside the U.S. This BlackBerry model is a good choice for users requiring email access, mobile Web and instant messaging.
The Basics
The BlackBerry 8830 measures 4.49 inches tall, 2.6 inches wide and just over ½-inch thick. It weighs 4.6 ounces. The phone features a full QWERTY, backlit keyboard below the 2.4-inch color screen. The main hot key is a trackball, which can be both rolled to move the cursor or pressed to make an on-screen selection.
The Blackberry 8830 features ports for a mono or stereo headset and a USB cable (typically used for computer syncing and charging). It also has a built-in microphone and earpiece featuring Bluetooth, hands-free capability and M4/T4 hearing-aid compatibility.

This smartphone can also integrate existing enterprise email accounts. Personal Web-based email accounts such as Hotmail, Live, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail can be accessed via the mobile Web only.
Security Features
The Blackberry 8830 features password-protected device security as well as an automatic keyboard lock that prevents pocket dialing. When integrated with the Blackberry Enterprise Server and used on the appropriate network, information sent over the open air is encrypted.
