Cell phone keypad
The V170 TracFone is a flip phone by Motorola. There is no yearly calling plan associated with this phone; it is on a monthly prepaid basis on the AT&T calling network. You can lock the phone's keypad to prevent someone else from using it or avoid "pocket dialing," where a phone accidentally dials a number while being stored in a purse or briefcase. When the V170 is locked, it will still ring and vibrate for incoming calls and text messages, but if you want to answer the call or read the message, you'll need to unlock it first. You can still make emergency calls even when the V170 TracFone is locked.
Instructions
1. Flip open the V170 TracFone so you can see the keypad.
2. Enter the four-digit unlock code using the numbers on the keypad. If you never assigned a specific code to your phone, the default code is "1234." If that doesn't work, try entering the last four numbers of your phone number.
3. Press the "Menu" button on the keypad. The "Menu" button is located in the top middle of the keypad, between the directional buttons. This will unlock the phone.
4. Press the "Menu" button to bypass the unlock screen if the unlock code and the last four digits of your phone number does not work. You should do this only if the phone does not unlock after multiple attempts.
5. Enter the security code for the phone. The default security code is "000000."
6. Press the "Menu" button again to enter the security code and unlock the phone.
