Connect A Bluetooth Headset To A Nokia E63

Connect a Bluetooth headset to your smart phone for hands-free use.

The Nokia E63 smart phone has Bluetooth technology, allowing wireless hands-free phone and audio use when paired with a Bluetooth headset. The headset, which is a small earpiece, is sold separately; look for a Nokia or Nokia-approved earpiece with Bluetooth version 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate, or EDR. Connecting a Bluetooth headset to a Nokia E63 takes just a few minutes.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Nokia E63 Smartphone. Go to the Menu. Select "Connectivity," then select "Bluetooth."

2. Click "On" on the Bluetooth screen.

3. Activate the Bluetooth headset; usually you will press and hold a button on the unit until a light flashes. Check your Bluetooth manual for the location of the button on your headset.

4. Select the "Options" tab, and click on "New Paired Device." The Nokia E63 will search for the Bluetooth headset. When the model number of your headset appears, select it.

5. Enter the pass code. The default pass code for many Bluetooth headsets is "00000." For extra security, select your own pass code from one to 16 digits. The same pass code will have to be entered into the Bluetooth earpiece.

6. Select "Yes" when prompted to make a connection between the devices.

7. Click on "Assign a Short Name" under Options to give the Bluetooth headset a nickname so it's easily identifiable if other Bluetooth devices are within range when you connect it to a computer or other devices.
