If you want to unlock your Nokia 1100 RH-18 mobile phone to allow it to connect to any network you want, you need an unlock code. You can try getting one from your phone's carrier, but because an unlock code allows you to connect to competitors' networks, your carrier may not provide you with one. In such a case, you can purchase a code from a website. For both ways, you need to find out your phone's international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) number.

1. Dial "*#06#" on your 1100's keypad to bring up the IMEI number on the phone's display.
2. Call your phone's carrier. Provide the representative with the IMEI number and request an unlock code. Your phone's carrier is under no obligation to provide you with this code.
3. Turn off your 1100 and remove the battery pack. Remove the subscriber identity module (SIM) card.
4. Turn on the phone and dial "#pw+CODE+1#" on the keypad (where "CODE" is the unlock code provided to you). Tap the "*" key quickly twice to produce the "+" for the code. Tap "*" quickly three times to produce the "p," and tap "*" quickly four times to produce the "w."
5. Look at the display. A message stating "SIM Restriction Off" should be there.

7. Navigate to a website that offers unlock codes for the 1100 for sale. Provide the site with your 1100's IMEI number and purchase a code. See the list in Resources for websites that sell codes.
