The Dell Axim X5 is a Pocket PC device released by Dell in 2003. The Axim comes with 32 megabytes of RAM so that you can store settings and a handful of programs, but when that space runs out you have to upgrade the memory in order to add more information to the device. You cannot change the 32 megabytes of onboard memory, but you can add up to 4 GB of memory in a CompactFlash card or up to 256 MB of memory in a SD card.
Instructions
CompactFlash Card

2. Hold the device in front of you so that you are looking at the LCD. Align the replacement CompactFlash card so that you can see the label.
3. Lower the card into the empty slot. Perform this action slowly and do not force the card in of it is not sliding smoothly, just take it back out and slide it in again.
4. Click the "Start" button on the device and choose "Programs" from the drop-down menu. Select "File Explorer" from the list of options.
5. Tap "Show" near the top of the screen and choose your memory card from the list. If you can access the card, the installation was successful.
