Several colleges in New Jersey offer dentistry degrees and programs.
All 50 states require dentists to be licensed. Candidates must graduate from an accredited dental school and pass written and practical examinations. Dental schools require a minimum of two years of college-level, predental education prior to admittance, but most dental students have at least a bachelor's degree in a science, such as biology or chemistry, before entering dental school. New Jersey has several universities that offer undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate dental programs.
