Many cell phones come with preinstalled applications for features such as music, movies or navigation. Verizon users receive the VZ Navigator, Verizon's own custom GPS system, preinstalled on their phone. However, for BlackBerry Storm and Tour users, the VZ Navigator software does not come with their phone. To set up the program, they will need to download it from their BlackBerry using the Verizon App store.
Instructions
1. Turn on "Position Location" on your BlackBerry. Select "Options" and then "Advanced Options from the pop-up menu. Select "GPS."
2. Select "GPS Services" and "Location On" from the pop-up menu.
3. Open the Web browser from the main menu of your BlackBerry Storm or Tour. Load the "VZW Today" website, accessible from the "Favorites" menu on your Web browser.
4. Select "Get Apps." Select "VZ Navigator" from the list provided. As the list is in alphabetical order, "VZ Navigator" will appear at the bottom of the list.
5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the link titled "Download VZ Navigator." Click "Download." The BlackBerry Tour or Storm will now automatically download and begin installing the program.
6. Click "View" when prompted. Select "Menu" followed by "Save" to change the application control permissions. Restart your BlackBerry Storm or Tour.
7. Select the "VZ Navigator" on the main menu of your BlackBerry. Select "I Agree" to the user agreement. VZ Navigator is now properly set up for use on your Verizon BlackBerry Tour or Storm phone.
