Compressed files can save space when transferring these files between systems. One format of compressed files is the .CAB file, so named for the "cabinet" likeness that enables a group of files to store neatly in this file container. Programs contained in .CAB files can transfer and install quickly onto mobile devices such as an HTC Touch Pro. After you transfer .CAB files on the HTC Touch Pro and install the program, you can then simply delete the files.
Instructions
1. Download the .CAB file to your computer and place it on the desktop.
2. Connect the HTC Touch Pro to your computer using a USB cable or Bluetooth connection. Synchronize the HTC Touch with your computer using the Windows Mobile Device Center utility (included with the HTC Touch Pro).
3. Find the "Browse Contents" option under "File Management" within the Windows Mobile Device Center utility and select it. You will now see the storage available on your smartphone--internal storage and an additional storage card if you have one installed.
4. Drag the .CAB file from the desktop to the internal main storage of the HTC Touch with your mouse to transfer it to your phone.
5. Disconnect the HTC Touch Pro and tap "File Explorer" from the "Start" page of the HTC Touch. Locate the .CAB file within the "My Documents" folder and tap it once to install it on your phone. Follow any prompts or instructions you see to finish the installation process.
