Connect Through A 3g Phone

Mobile phones have rapidly evolved to do much more than just make calls.

"On-the-go" access to the Internet is very important if you spend a lot of time traveling and need a quick way to get information and communicate with others. A number of dongles exist to help people connect their laptops to the Internet from any location via 3G, but it is also possible to tether your 3G mobile phone to your computer and access the Internet through a Bluetooth connection.

Instructions

1. Contact your mobile phone service provider. Request an Internet package that allows large or unlimited data to be sent and received over 3G.

2. Pair your Bluetooth phone with your PC, or connect it via a USB cable if your phone does not support Bluetooth. Go to the Bluetooth options menu. Click the "Start" menu button on the PC. Click on "Control Panel." Click on "Printers and Other Hardware." Click "Bluetooth Devices." Click on "Add." Follow the setup wizard directions to pair your mobile phone with your computer.

3. Connect your computer to the Internet. Click on the "Start" menu. Click on the "Connect to" menu. The "Connect to a network" window will open. Click on your phone from the list displayed and click "Connect." You will be prompted to enter your dial-up account user name, password and phone number. Enter the required details to connect to the Internet through the mobile phone. You can now user Internet and email browsers through the phone connection.
