Nokia N85 Tips & Tricks

Nokia launched the N85 smartphone in 2008. It features a 5-megapixel camera, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity and a built-in GPS receiver with a Nokia Maps GPS navigation system. The phone competes in the fiercely competitive smartphone market against such household names as the iPhone and the BlackBerry.


Keypad Lock


Use the lock switch located on the right side of the device to lock and unlock the keypad. Alternatively, you can do the same thing by opening or closing the two-way slide.


Memory Card Password "Tools" > "File manager." Then open the memory card folder, selecting "Options" > "Memory card password." Your password can contain up to eight characters and is case-sensitive.


Prolong Battery Life


You can let your battery last longer, if you do not run Bluetooth or wireless LAN, or WLAN, in the background when you do not need them. Press and hold the "Menu" key to check whether there are applications running in the background. Scroll to the application you wish to close and press "C."


Update


Update the N85 regularly to make sure you have the latest versions of all applications, including Nokia Maps. To check for updates, type "#0000#," press "Dial" and follow the prompts. Keep in mind, however, that data charges may apply.


Multimedia Keys


The multimedia keys on the two-way slider allow you to control the music on your smartphone. To adjust the volume, use the keys located on the side of the phone.
